Trying Something New
Adding some other writing to my page, for fun!
My favorite book series of all time is C.S. Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia. I always enjoy going back to read them, to glean new meaning from his words, and to look for the ways the Lord wishes to speak to me through these fictional tales (yes, I do believe He has something to say here, in part because Lewis was so open with the allegories).
One of the great travesties of 20th century British literature is that Lewis never got to finish the story. He admitted that he still had more to write, especially when it came to Susan Pevensie. While we may never know exactly how Lewis would have told her story, I think it’s still safe to assume that he would have shown her coming back to belief after many years away. I would even be so bold as to say that he would likely have drawn on his own experience of reversion in order to tell her story.
Lewis was a great supporter of other writers. There are even letters which document his encouragement. One, if memory serves, even encouraged a young reader of Narnia to write his or her own story after that reader groused about the unsatisfactory way he had told Susan’s story up until that point. In that vein, I began writing my version of Susan’s story. I will not pretend to pass it off as Lewis’s, nor will I say I am anywhere close to the caliber of writer that he was. Nor indeed do I have the lived experience of reversion that he did. Rather, this is how I would tell it, using Lewis as the inspiration and his own assertion as the jumping-off point.
I seek no accolades here. My only wish is that this story may allow others to see Susan Pevensie in a positive light, as the one lost sheep, we might say, for whom the Shepherd tirelessly searches, and over whom there is much rejoicing in Heaven upon finding her.
I will begin releasing chapters slowly in the coming weeks and months, as time permits. I beg your patience with me; this will in all likelihood be a rather irregular process entirely dependent upon my ability to write coherently and substantively.

This is so cool! Cant wait 😃
